Lagos, Ogun and the FCT have been on lockdown on orders from Buhari since March 30 to contain coronavirus spread.
President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians on Monday, April 27, 2020, the presidency has announced on a national broadcast at 8 pm.
“Television, radio and other electronic media stations are expected to link to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) network networks for broadcasting, respectively,” said Buhari’s media assistant Femi Adesina.
The president is expected to provide Nigerians with an update on the efforts his government is making to control coronavirus spread in Nigeria.
The address’s focus will be about the shutdown of Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by the president.As of March 30 Buhari had requested all three locked-down locations to contain the outbreak.As of April 26,
Nigeria reported 1,273 cases of coronavirus in 32 states, and the FCT.239 People have recovered but 40 died.
