President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his sorrow at the news of the death of Alhaji Modu Sheriff, Borno Emirate’s Galadima, and the father of former Borno governor Ali Sheriff.
The message from the President was transmitted Thursday in a statement by his Senior Media and Publicity Special Assistant, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja.
The president extended his sincere condolences to Gov, Babagana Zulum of Borno and Sheriff’s family.President Buhari also commiserated with Borno’s Shehu and the entire Borno Emirates Council on the passing of their revered son and community leader loved and respected with affection by his people.
The President who described his in-law and father-in-law’s death to Halima, his daughter, as a personal loss to him, prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the soul of the eternal rest that had departed.
He appealed to families, friends and relatives who mourn the deceased in the midst of the country’s current problems to keep social distance, secure and healthy please.
