Nigeria has announced new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state of Lagos and Osun, increasing the country’s total number to 46.
Early on Wednesday 25 March, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that Osun had reported its first case.
In Lagos, too, the number of cases has now risen to 30, the highest in the world.
“In the last 7 days, both cases return travelers to Nigeria,” the agency said.
Cases of coronavirus have now been detected in eight states across the country-Lagos (30), Federal Capital Territory (8), Ogun (3), Ekiti (1), Oyo (1), Edo (1), Bauchi (1), and Osun (1).
Two cases have been recovered and discharged, while on Monday 23 March the nation reported its first death.
