The vice president has been checked after being informed positively by President Buhari’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari.
According to media reports, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has tested negative on coronavirus (COVID-19).
Osinbajo was tested for the illness after Abba Kyari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, tested positive.
Kyari had recently traveled to Germany where more than 30,000 cases were registered and participated in high-profile meetings when he returned to Germany.
He participated in the meeting of the Economic Advisory Council (EAC), which was held in the Presidential Villa on March 17. The meeting was presided over by the president, with Osinbajo, cabinet ministers, and other top government officials attending.
Buhari tested negative after Kyari became a confirmed case, and on Wednesday, March 25, the vice president’s office announced he’s also negative.
“Vice President Yemi Osinbajo check negative,” tweeted Wednesday Babafemi Ojudu, the president’s special adviser on political matters.
