Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has issued a statement enlisting President Buhari’s “salutary achievements” ahead of his 5th anniversary in office.
In his statement, Adesina noted that the President came to office on the wings of change and that the change “has been accomplished in almost every facet of national life so far.
“The presidential spokesman added that the president kept his promise of improving security, diversifying the economy through job creation, and fighting corruption.
According to Adesina, “bombs went off like firecrackers before the Buhari administration, insurgents ran riots around the country, other forms of crime and criminality held sway,” but over the last five years, the battle has been waged against the insurgents, and they are being extinguished by the day.
Interpret his statement below”Between May 29, 2015, when it was inaugurated for the first term and now, the Buhari administration has had a salutary impact on nearly all aspects of Nigerian life.
On the wings of change, the government swept into office, and that change was accomplished in almost every phase of national life. Where the ambitious goals have yet to be accomplished, work is under way and eyes have firmly focused on the ball. No distraction,’ said Adesina.

May 29, 2020 marks the end of the first year of the Muhammadu Buhari administration’s second four-year term, and the Government’s fifth year in office.
Between May 29, 2015, when it was inaugurated for the first time, and now, in almost all facets of Nigerian life, the Buhari administration has made a salutary impact.
The government swept into power on Reform ‘s wings, and the transition was achieved in almost every step of national life. Where the ambitious goals have yet to be accomplished, work is under way and eyes have firmly focused on the ball. Will not disrupt.
The three umbrella areas on which government has based its interventionist agenda are: security, reviving the economy (with special emphasis on job creation, particularly for youth), and combating corruption. It is not possible to equate where we are today with where we used to be in those three regions.
By May 2015, insecurity was severely fracturing the nation’s fabric. No one could wager the nation would survive the following month, not to think of another year. Bombs went off like firecrackers, rebels were running riots across the world, other types of crime and swayed violence. Life had been rough, harsh and short.
The war was fought against rebels and criminals for five years. And by day they ‘re extinguished, and very close to full extirpation.
The economy, long dependent on a mono commodity-petroleum, is being retooled, reoriented, with diversification as a mission to be accomplished.
Agriculture has been granted a fillip, manufacturing has got a shot in the arm and solid minerals add a major chunk to the GDP.
The nation is very close to food security, with no longer importing rice , beans, corn, millet and all kinds of grain. We eat whatever we grow now.
No quarter is asked about the war against corruption and none is given. Commit the offence, do the word. No escape, no giving-up.
Truth speaks for itself. And this is what we are proposing at this auspicious season of the Buhari administration’s fifth anniversary. Truth are stubborn facts, no matter how they might be refuted, twisted or derided by someone.’
